Dear Yantie... Love Yantie.
Slow down. You need to stay still. You need to breathe. You need to relax. And only until then you can ask yourself: ‘What is the next right move?’
You’ve kept yourself way too busy for these past couple of months. You just keep on going and you don’t seem to know when to stop. Yes, you are a strong and you are independent. But you are human too.
I know that it’s hard. There are so many expectations of you. You have so many commitments. You don’t want to say ‘no’ to people. And you don’t want to disappoint anyone. But just remember, you need to fill your own cup first and the one you should please most is God.
Remember your priorities. Studies first, then your blog, Amnesty International, work and then everything else. But make sure you have balance. Because you need it to function without losing yourself in the process.
I know that you have your goals and your dreams. But those goals and dreams don’t need to be achieved straight away. Be calm. Stay there. You are still so young. Take things one at a time. Good things do take time. And good things also need to be nurtured. So nurture yourself. Treat yourself kindly. Take care of your health and wellbeing. Take care of you.
In all honesty, with how busy you are at the rate that you have been going and the commitments you have had, I’m surprised that you are not burnt out just yet. You haven’t hit that wall. But you feel it. Like you can snap at any given moment. But I won’t let you. And if you do, I will pick you up again. This is me, asking you to stop adding more to the list that needs your attention and rather, focus on yourself. Because you deserve your own attention above all else. Right now, you have too much on your plate and you are starting to drain yourself out. Sooner or later, you might not have enough in your cup to flourish the way you want to grow.
So fill it up before it is too late. With your priorities, balance, patience, good health and wellbeing, as well as by staying true to yourself.
Yes, there is only the future to look forward to. But it is what you do in the present now that will determine it. And there comes a time when the best thing that you can do in the present moment is to slow down, stay still, breathe and relax.
